To the eye
A deep, brilliant and crystal-clear ruby colour, with violet and garnet highlights.
Nose
Highly expressive, rich and complex. It exudes intense aromas of ripe black and red fruits (black cherry, wild blackberry, blackcurrant), enhanced by superb notes of sweet spices, peony and a subtle hint of undergrowth and liquorice typical of this clay-rich terroir.
Palate
The attack is full-bodied and velvety. The wine quickly reveals a luscious, full-bodied and generous texture (the true hallmark of La Boudriotte), remarkably structured by fine, silky and ripe tannins. The lovely natural acidity of the 2021 vintage cuts through this opulence, drawing the wine out into a long, easy-drinking and subtly peppery finish.
Pairing
This full-bodied, well-structured Pinot Noir calls for dishes with real character. It will bring out the best in a fillet of beef cooked with vine shoots, a duck breast with cherries, a roast pigeon or a classic beef bourguignon. When it comes to cheese, opt for a matured Époisses, a Cîteaux or a Saint-Nectaire. We recommend serving it at around 16°C.
Aging potential
Whilst highly appealing for the quality of its fruit, it is nevertheless well-suited to ageing thanks to the power of its terroir. It will develop wonderfully in the cellar over 6 to 12 years, developing captivating notes of truffle, leather and venison as it matures.
