Nose
An elegant and complex bouquet. It features stewed black fruits (blackberry, blueberry), notes of liquorice and musk, and a hint of subtle roasted notes. Upon aeration, aromas of woodland undergrowth, black truffle and wilted peony add a fascinating tertiary dimension.

Palate
The wine is rich and ‘full-bodied’ in the finest sense of the word, underpinned by tannins which, after 20 years, have developed exceptional velvety smoothness whilst retaining a solid backbone. It is a wine of depth, where the limestone minerality complements the fruit’s richness.

Pairing
A top-class wine to accompany a hare stew, a piece of beef braised in red wine, or a distinctive cheese such as a well-matured Cîteaux. In 2026, at the age of 21, the wine will be at its peak. It is recommended that the wine be decanted for an hour to allow its full aromatic complexity to unfold.
