To the eye
A deep, brilliant ruby colour with garnet highlights.
Nose
A deep and complex bouquet of dark berries (blackberry, blackcurrant), violet and liquorice. It bears that signature ‘Garcia’ purity: fruit that seems to have been squeezed straight into the glass.
Palate
The attack is full-bodied and velvety. The tannic structure is distinctly present, yet the texture is as fine as cashmere. The finish is long, underpinned by a minerality of iron and fresh earth.
Pairing
A rack of lamb in a herb crust, a duck breast with cranberries, or a Cîteaux cheese.
Aging potential
A First Growth of distinguished pedigree. Superb from 2029–2030, it has an ageing potential of 15 to 20 years.
