Discover Alsace Wines

Located between Strasbourg and Mulhouse, the Alsace wine region spans over 119 villages and covers more than 15,000 hectares. This region is renowned for its noble grape varieties such as Riesling and Gewurztraminer, making it the largest producer of white wines in France. Protected by the Vosges Mountains from oceanic influences, Alsace enjoys a unique climate that is dry and sunny, ideal for harvesting ripe and precise grapes.

Terroir and Characteristics

The Alsace terroir is composed of diverse soils: granite, limestone, marl-limestone, schist, and volcanic soils which provide wines with great richness and complex aromas. The vineyard is structured into several appellations, with many prestigious Grand Cru sites such as Schlossberg, Kaefferkopf, and Rangen, renowned for their quality and aging potential. Riesling here reaches its full expression with freshness and minerality.

Wine Profile

Alsace wines are mainly dry, aromatic white wines that stand out for their purity, finesse, and aging capability. Gewurztraminer offers intense notes of exotic fruits and spices, while Pinot Gris seduces with its richness and balance. Alsace also produces Crémant d'Alsace, elegant and fresh sparkling wines.

Food Pairings

Alsace wines pair perfectly with refined dishes such as choucroute garnie, fish in sauce, white meats, or cheese platters featuring Munster. They also complement spicy Asian dishes and fruit-based desserts.
