Discover Chiroubles

Chiroubles is one of the ten renowned crus of the Beaujolais region, located at the heart of the area on elevated slopes with optimal exposure. Known as the most airy and floral cru of Beaujolais, it thrives on a distinctive granite terroir with higher altitude, allowing the Gamay grape to fully express itself.

Terroir and Characteristics

The light, granite soils of Chiroubles offer perfect conditions for the Gamay grape variety. This unique terroir, along with a temperate climate, provides freshness and finesse, making it known as the "tenderest of Beaujolais crus".

Wine Profile

Chiroubles wines are light-bodied and elegant, with delicate floral aromas like peony and violet, complemented by fresh red fruit notes such as raspberry, cherry, and strawberry. On the palate, they reveal vibrant acidity, a supple texture, and low tannins, making this a fresh red wine enjoyable young yet capable of aging for 3 to 5 years.

Food Pairings

Thanks to their finesse and liveliness, Chiroubles wines pair wonderfully with fine charcuterie, roasted poultry, vegetable gratins, Mediterranean cuisine, and soft cheeses like Brie or Camembert. These pairings highlight the wine's freshness and smoothness.
