Régnié is one of the ten renowned crus of Beaujolais, officially recognized as an AOC since 1988. Nestled between the famed appellations of Morgon and Brouilly, this vineyard boasts a distinctive granite terroir that provides ideal conditions for the Gamay grape to express its full freshness and fruity character. Though young as an official cru, Régnié has a long-standing viticultural history and a growing reputation.
The terroir in Régnié consists mainly of granite soils which impart finesse and elegance to the wines. The temperate climate ensures optimal ripening of the Gamay grape. This combination creates wines with a distinctive profile, blending aromatic intensity with elegant structure.
Régnié Wines display a bright ruby color with expressive aromas dominated by red and black berries such as raspberry, cherry, redcurrant, and blackcurrant. Floral notes of peony and violet, as well as subtle spicy and mineral hints, also emerge depending on the terroir and vinification methods. On the palate, these wines offer a beautiful balance of indulgence, freshness, and structure, featuring a supple texture, fine tannins, and natural liveliness. While approachable when young, some vintages have aging potential.
Régnié pairs wonderfully with fine charcuterie, roasted white meats, terrines, grilled vegetables, and soft cheeses. Its suppleness and fruit-forward style make it a convivial wine, perfect for light meals or large gatherings with friends and family.
