Discover Maranges Wines

Maranges is a renowned appellation located at the southern gateway of the Côte de Beaune in Burgundy. This vineyard covers three villages: Cheilly-lès-Maranges, Dezize-lès-Maranges, and Sampigny-lès-Maranges, in Saône-et-Loire. Although geographically close to the Côte Chalonnaise, its terroir of marls and limestones historically links it to the elite of the Côte d'Or.

Terroir and Characteristics

The soil of Maranges is mainly composed of marls and limestones, essential elements that give the wines their distinct style. The temperate climate enables optimal ripening of the grapes, primarily Pinot Noir, the emblematic grape of the appellation. This terroir endows the wines with solid structure and excellent aromatic expression.

Wine Profile

Maranges red wines are known for their power, fleshy structure, and intense color. They reveal complex aromas of red berries, liquorice, and subtle forest floor notes. These wines have an interesting aging potential, especially their Premier Crus, offering beautiful development in the cellar.

Food Pairings

Maranges pairs perfectly with gourmet dishes such as roasted poultry, duck breast with red fruits, Époisses cheese, or aged Comté. Their aromatic richness and structure wonderfully support these pairings.
