To the eye
A deep, brilliant, dark ruby colour with intense violet highlights.
Nose
A complex bouquet of dark fruits (blackberry, blueberry) blended with notes of peony, liquorice and sandalwood.
Palate
The attack is powerful and full-bodied. The wine is dense, underpinned by exceptionally refined tannins that coat the palate. It is a well-structured wine, yet with that distinctive Berthaut ‘touch’ that lends it fluidity and a silky elegance.
Pairing
A Bresse chicken with truffles, a beef fillet en croûte or roast game birds.
Aging potential
A truly exceptional wine with great ageing potential. By 2026, it will still be in its closed phase. Leave it in the cellar until 2033, with the potential to age until 2050.
