Discover Domaine du Banneret

Domaine du Banneret, a prestigious family estate, lies at the heart of Châteauneuf-du-Pape in the Southern Rhône Valley. Founded in the 1920s, it is currently led by Jean-Claude Vidal and his daughter Audrey, who uphold traditional craftsmanship focused on respecting the terroir and the purity of the fruit.

Terroir and Characteristics

The vineyard spans approximately 5 hectares across iconic terroirs of rolled pebbles, sands, and clay soils typical of Châteauneuf-du-Pape. All thirteen authorized grape varieties are carefully cultivated, with a predominance of Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvèdre. The estate also includes ancient varieties such as Counoise, Clairette, and rare Vaccarèse, contributing to the wines' complexity and depth.

Wine Profile

The red wines of Domaine du Banneret are distinguished by their finesse, rich aromatic depth, and remarkable balance. They express intense notes of ripe red and black fruits, garrigue, spices, and truffle, supported by silky tannins and a long finish. The smaller production of white wines offers freshness, roundness, and elegant floral complexity.

Food Pairings

These exceptional wines pair perfectly with braised meats, game, sauced dishes, and aged cheeses such as Époisses and Comté. They embody the tradition and elegance of great wines from the Southern Rhône.
