Comte de Lauze is a historic estate located in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, in the heart of the Southern Rhône Valley. Founded in the early 20th century, it embodies the tradition, elegance, and quality of great Rhône wines, combining a deep respect for the terroir with expert winemaking craftsmanship.
The vineyard covers approximately 10 hectares in Châteauneuf-du-Pape and 12 hectares in Côtes-du-Rhône. The vines grow in soils of rolled pebbles, red clay, and sand, benefiting from abundant sunshine and the Mistral wind, which promotes optimal grape ripening while preserving natural freshness.
Red wines from Comte de Lauze are mainly crafted from the emblematic grape varieties Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvèdre. They offer complex aromas of black fruits, spices, garrigue, and licorice, supported by fine tannins and a harmonious structure. The white wines, produced in smaller quantities, are noted for their freshness with delicate notes of white flowers, citrus, and yellow-fleshed fruits.
The estate’s wines pair wonderfully with roasted meats, rich sauces, game, as well as aged cheeses like Époisses or aged Comté, offering an authentic taste experience reflecting the Châteauneuf-du-Pape terroir.
