Domaine Pegau, located in the renowned Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation, is an iconic estate in the Southern Rhône Valley, celebrated for the quality, power, and authenticity of its wines. Founded by Louis Pegau, the estate is now managed by his children, who continue the family tradition by combining respect for the terroir with precision in winemaking.
The vineyard spreads over several hectares of soils composed of rolled pebbles, sands, and clays, ideal for the classic grape varieties of Châteauneuf-du-Pape: Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre, as well as rarer varieties such as Clairette and Roussanne for whites. The vines are carefully maintained with an environmentally respectful approach.
Domaine Pegau's red wines are distinguished by their depth, elegance, and aromatic complexity. They reveal notes of black fruits, spices, garrigue, and licorice, with silky tannins and a long finish. The white wines, produced in smaller quantities, offer freshness, finesse, and aromas of white flowers, citrus, and minerality.
Domaine Pegau wines pair beautifully with roasted meats, game, rich sauces, and aged cheeses such as blue cheese, aged Comté, or Epoisses. They embody the authenticity, power, and elegance of great Châteauneuf-du-Pape wines.
