MAGNUM LANGUEDOC 2019 BERGERIE DE L'ARCADE

MAGNUM LANGUEDOC 2019 BERGERIE DE L'ARCADE

€420.00
Magnum 150 cl

Pascal and Gilles Soulas were not born winegrowers, but farmers. The Soulas family has owned the Domaine de l'Arcade for a very long time, growing fruit trees in the Languedoc region. Close to the Vaillé brothers (Grange des Pères) and sharing the same taste for discretion and humility, they decided in 2010 to take over the vines and produce an AOP Languedoc wine: Bergerie de l'Arcade in 2016, the estate's first vintage.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Is this magnum suitable for a meal for six to eight people?

At 150 cl, it serves twelve 12.5 cl glasses. That works out to two glasses per person for six people, or one glass each with a few refills possible for eight.

What occasion would be a good reason to choose this 2019 vintage?

It can accompany a meal celebrating an event that took place in 2019, such as a meeting, wedding, or birth. The choice would then be based on the vintage’s symbolic value, without making assumptions about how mature the wine is.

How should I choose between this magnum and Vaisse’s PUR IGP Pays d’Hérault?

For a shared meal, the practical difference is the format: this magnum contains the equivalent of two 75 cl bottles of PUR. They also come from two different estates and have two different geographical indications; without tasting notes, it is not possible to compare them on taste.

Is its Languedoc origin enough reason to choose this wine over another red from the region?

It provides a geographical reference, but is not enough to establish a similarity in taste. To choose according to your preferences, you would need information about the blend or tasting notes, which are not available here.

Is this magnum suitable for a tasting with several wine enthusiasts?

For a tasting in small 5 cl pours, its 150 cl provides thirty servings. This format makes it possible to let a group taste the same wine while controlling how much is served to each person.
