To the eye
A deep, intense and brilliant ruby colour.
Nose
A powerful bouquet of dark fruits (blackberry, blackcurrant), liquorice and a hint of peony. As it opens up, notes of elegant forest floor and fine leather emerge.
Palate
The attack is bold and full-bodied. The wine is dense, underpinned by tannins of remarkable texture – firm yet already silky. The finish is long, with notes of graphite and black cherry.
Pairing
A Galician rib of beef, a hare stew or a mature Comté cheese.
Aging potential
A wine with real ageing potential. It will begin to come into its own around 2029–2030 and will continue to develop over the next 20 years.
