To the eye
The colour is a deep garnet red with slight brick-red highlights; it is bright and clear, showing fine development whilst retaining its intensity.

Nose
The nose is complex and elegant, revealing aromas of black cherry, morello cherry, blackberry and blackcurrant, complemented by notes of violet, liquorice, black pepper, forest floor, leather, game and a delicate smoky note from the ageing process.

Palate
On the palate, it is full-bodied, deep and perfectly structured. The tannins are now well integrated whilst retaining a lovely firmness, underpinned by the freshness characteristic of the 2013 vintage. Flavours of black fruit, spices, liquorice and forest floor linger on a long, persistent and remarkably mineral finish, worthy of the greatest Corton Grands Crus.

Pairing
This 2013 Corton Grand Cru Languettes will pair perfectly with a Rossini-style fillet of beef, a rack of venison, roast pigeon, hare à la royale or wild boar stew. It also pairs well with wild mushrooms, Bresse poultry with morels, or mature cheeses such as Époisses or aged Comté. To bring out the full complexity of this Burgundy Grand Cru, we recommend serving it at between 16 and 17 °C after allowing it to breathe for one to two hours in a decanter.

Aging potential
Already very expressive after more than ten years of ageing, this 2013 Corton Grand Cru Languettes still has an ageing potential of 10 to 15 years, during which time it will develop even more complex aromas of truffle, leather, forest floor and spices.
