To the eye
A deep, intense colour, typical of a Nuits-Saint-Georges.
Nose
The nose offers aromas of blackberry and blackcurrant, complemented by notes of cherry and spices that emerge as the wine breathes.
Palate
Silky on the palate, with a vinous character, vigour and a lovely structure. The very long finish is dominated by the pronounced acidity typical of the vintage; this is a wine that will benefit greatly from being left to age for a few years in the cellar.
Pairing
Duck, goose or game birds, red meat in a sauce, or mature cheeses. Serve at 16–17°C, decanted.
Aging potential
Excellent ageing potential: at 18 years old, this 2008 is probably at its very best right now, supported by the acidity and structure characteristic of this vintage, which is renowned for ageing well.
