To the eye
An intense, old-gold colour, with crystalline highlights that reveal a vitality that is still surprising.
Nose
A majestic and complex bouquet. It features notes of brown butter, white truffle, beeswax and candied citrus zest. A hint of elegant reduction (flint) lingers, the estate’s signature.
Palate
The attack is broad and powerful. The wine ‘fills’ the palate with its body. The texture is dense and oily, yet immediately cut through by the sharp acidity of the 2010 vintage, which brings incredible freshness. The finish is briny and endless, with notes of toast and flint.
Pairing
A chicken in cream and morel sauce, a lobster Thermidor, or a mature Comté cheese aged for over 36 months.
Aging potential
This wine is currently at its peak. Thanks to the vintage’s exceptional structure, it should remain at this peak for a further 5 to 8 years.
