To the eye
A brilliant ruby colour of medium intensity, with highlights beginning to take on delicate brick-red and garnet hues, indicating a wine that is gently entering its phase of maturity.

Nose
Extremely elegant and remarkably subtle. The bouquet offers a magnificent blend of tangy red berries (redcurrant, morello cherry), floral notes of potpourri and faded rose, and tertiary aromas that are beginning to emerge (forest floor, a hint of truffle, fine leather).

Palate
The attack is smooth and silky. On the mid-palate, there is none of the intense power found in heatwave years, but rather a delicate array of aromas supported by lovely acidity. The tannins are now completely integrated, offering a caressing mouthfeel. The finish is fresh and savoury, lingering with subtle notes of garrigue and sweet spices.

Pairing
With its refined, sophisticated profile and silky texture, this 2014 calls for delicate dishes. It will work wonders with a fine roast poultry dish (capon or Bresse poularde), a veal medallion with chanterelle mushrooms, a black truffle risotto or a pork fillet mignon with mild spices. As for cheeses, pair it with a truffled Brie or a matured Saint-Marcellin. Decant very gently 30 minutes before serving, or simply uncork it 2 hours in advance, and serve at 15–16°C.

Aging potential
The 2014 vintage is currently at its peak for tasting, offering all the charm of its aromatic maturity. Thanks to the protection afforded by the Magnum’s larger volume, it will retain its fine balance and can be left to age peacefully in the cellar for a further 5 to 7 years.
