To the eye
A pale yellow colour with greenish highlights; bright and youthful.
Nose
The nose is quite restrained on first opening, with notes of peach and ripe apple, along with creamy hints of oak, a touch of honey and lemon marmalade, followed by a mineral character reminiscent of wet stone.
Palate
Fresh, refined and elegant on the palate, with flavours of citrus and honeydew melon, underpinned by delicate oak and a crisp, chalky minerality, leading to a precise, salty finish.
Pairing
Flavourful fish (salmon, mackerel, swordfish, monkfish, tuna), or poultry in a light sauce. Serve at 12°C.
Aging potential
A wine that defies all preconceptions about Aligoté: the estate’s historic vintages (1961, 1969, 1974) are still a delight to drink today. This 2023 vintage has excellent ageing potential of 15 to 20 years, or even longer.
