To the eye
A deep, rich ruby colour, typical of a Monthélie Premier Cru.
Nose
A powerful nose of cherry, black cherry and forest floor, with woody and slightly spicy notes.
Palate
A fresh palate, bursting with juicy red berries and floral notes, underpinned by noticeable but refined tannins; a wine of fine concentration that is certainly not lacking in complexity.
Pairing
Beef bourguignon, veal, game or duck confit. Serve at 15–16°C, decanted.
Aging potential
Depending on the estate, these wines can be cellared for between 3 and 10 years, depending on the cuvée; this more full-bodied Premier Cru has an ageing potential of 8 to 12 years.
